ACTIVITY ONE: MULTIDISCIPLINARY MEETING

Students are required to attend a multidisciplinary meeting, case conference or other meeting which occurs within the practice setting. The purpose is to observe hospital ward((+ 60) older people, basic group dynamics between team members and the role that each member of the multidisciplinary team takes in the meeting. The student will need to obtain permission to carry out this activity and record the observations from the mentor. The mentor works with the student to facilitate this experience and may discuss aspects of individual meetings prior to the observation.

If the student’s professional group does not usually attend multidisciplinary team meetings, their mentor may need to facilitate this activity within an appropriate department, service or practice environment.
